As you read the passage today, you’re going to see how two people responded to a word from God—one with doubt, and one with faith. You might be surprised to learn the doubter was a priest, and the person with faith was a teenage girl! It’s as if Luke is setting up a choice for us. We’re about to read a story too good to be true. “Wait a minute,” we’ll think, “Did that really happen?” As we read the story of Jesus, we’ll be presented with a choice—will we respond with faith, or with doubt? All of us doubt from time to time, but Luke wants us to make a choice from the very beginning. Whether you’ve known God for your whole life or just been introduced to Him, make a decision, right now, to let your heart be changed by Jesus. Ask Jesus to reset your faith, and allow God to move in your heart through His Word.
