Some of the greatest movies in history are based on true stories. When Jesus walked the earth, He cared for the poor, healed the sick, spoke out against the religious leaders, and taught His followers to love as He loved. He was crucified, and three days later He rose from the dead and launched the greatest revolution the world has ever known. Through His love, people all over the world are being reset from the inside out. This is the greatest story ever told, and in the years after Jesus lived on the earth, His followers captured His story in four books, today known as Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John—the first four books of the New Testament. Luke in particular had an eye for detail. Although He never knew Jesus personally, he tracked down eyewitness accounts of those who had been with and seen Jesus. This is his account. As you journey with Luke through his telling of the life of Jesus, you’re going to see how Jesus reset culture’s view of God. He didn’t preach a new religion; He awakened them to the reality of God in the world. Our prayer is that your faith would be strengthened as you read the accounts of how one man—Jesus—turned the world upside down. Actually, He turned the world right-side up.
