[IMAGE CONTENT] # Petition Heaven My mother is an intercessor, someone who regularly prays for others with intentionality and power. I would find her praying every morning in her dressing robe, with her worn out Bible on her lap. She was the “embarrassing mum” who would sing in spiritual tongues in the car or the shops. She talked like she was always in the middle of a conversation with God. I’ve seen her quietly intercede, but also loudly cry and labour in prayer. I am more than blessed to have witnessed the power of prayer and the dedication of my personal prayer warrior. Have you ever thought about who has prayed for you? I imagine that if we could see the mapped out prayers that others have spoken over our lives, it would blow our minds. Think for a second about the key prayers that were prayed on your behalf. Some may have even altered the course of your life. The total sum of spoken prayer over our lives is an incredible thought. We are all called to pray, and to be able to walk with God, we need to be able to talk with God. God desires a relationship with each of us, and He offers us direct access to Him through prayer. The Creator of the universe wants a daily appointment with you. He wants a time where you get to lay out your heart’s desires. In prayer, you can lean on Him as your Counselor and Prince of Peace. So, why don’t we pray more? We have a VIP card straight into the throne room where the King sits and extends His hand of grace. We are required to have faith to move the mountain, but prayer moves the hand of God. Maybe this last year has been one of trials and testing, and you have sought many types of help. Let me encourage you; in every situation, pray first. The scripture talks about bringing our requests to God and letting His supernatural peace consume you, so that you can leave your position of prayer knowing that God has it under control. Just like my mum, you can also do that for others. This year would you consider a new level of prayer? Would you take the offer of direct access to heaven and pray fervently? Pray first and have confidence that God is working on your behalf (1 John 5:14-15). Pray With Me Father God, I bring every weight that is on my mind and give it to You right now. I cast all my cares on You, knowing that You hear me and have already begun to work all things for good. I trust You and thank You for the breakthrough and miracles that are to come.
