How large are you? Don’t worry this isn’t a weight question. Although I’m sure after the holidays we could all afford to lose a few pounds. This is a generosity question. The Message describes Proverbs 11:24 this way. The world of the generous gets larger and larger; the world of the stingy gets smaller and smaller. So how large is your world? We have a value at our church that says " We will lead the way with irrational generosity because we truly believe it is more blessed to give than to receive." God didn’t ask us to be generous for His benefit. God understood that the more generous we are, the more blessed we’d be. The more we live a life of generosity, the larger our perspective of the Kingdom world would be. I can honestly say my wife and I love to give. We truly have become cheerful givers. When we tithe through the local church it brings us joy. When we can bless a family, it fills our hearts with gratitude. For God so loved the world that He GAVE. Every time we give, our Kingdom perspective is growing larger and we are becoming more like God. It truly is the blessed life. Challenge: Look for an opportunity to be generous today. Maybe you’ll start tithing to the church, pay for someone's coffee, bless a family in need, or simply give someone your time. Prayer Prompt: Jesus help me have a Kingdom perspective. Show me opportunities to be generous with my time, talent, and treasures.
