I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations. Jeremiah 1:5 And then he told them, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone. Mark 16:15 God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another. 1 Peter 4:10 After reading those verses - what do you see? We see that God knew what He was doing when He made us and that He has called us to build His Kingdom. You see, all throughout the Bible, God has called people to do some pretty BIG things. He called Noah to build an ark, Moses to lead the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt, David, a shepherd boy - to be king of a nation, Jonah to preach to a city of wicked people, He even called the twelve disciples to leave their families and follow Jesus. Maybe you’re thinking, “That’s great for them but what does God have that calling for me?” We want to tell you today that your label is that you are CALLED by God. He has a plan and a purpose for your life. You are not here by accident. He has also gifted you to be able to help others. Is it easy for you to encourage those around you? Are you able to give your friends good advice when they ask for it? Have you felt a burden to pray for your family? Do you feel fulfilled when you help someone in need? Has God given you a passion for sharing your faith with others? These are all small ways that you can use your calling to impact His people. It’s normal to feel unsure or nervous when you start to live out God’s calling on your life. You might be thinking to yourself, “what are people going to think of me?” Well, if you live a life that reflects your calling, it won’t matter what people say! The only thing that matters is God’s label on your life. And you can be the person to help love and call His people! So, here’s the question: What is God calling you to do? Take some time to think about the gifts God has given you. Pray and ask God to give you opportunities to live out your calling.
