DAY 4 OF 5

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. 1 Peter2:9 When you read this verse, what sticks out to you? What immediately pops into my head is that it is telling us that we are a part of something! This verse places some specific labels on you. It calls you- A CHOSEN PEOPLE . God CHOSE you! Your life holds so much value that God saw you and made the decision to save you. He chose to bring you into this special group of people and you didn’t have to do anything to earn it. Because He loves you, He has labeled you as Chosen. A ROYAL PRIESTHOOD . Royalty means you have a connection with a king. In this case, you have a connection with THE king. Whether you’re 12 or 200, you have complete access to God’s Kingdom. He wants you to be a part of it! Because He loves you, He has labeled you as Royal. A HOLY NATION. T o be holy means to be set apart. It means that you are different from anything else in the world. You are not only a part of a Holy Nation, you ARE a holy nation. You are seen as set apart and unique. Because He loves you, He has labeled you as Holy. When we read this verse we can hold on to the fact that God loves us so much, that he has called us to be set apart. He didn’t do this flippantly. He has labeled you as chosen, royal, and holy - for a reason. What reason? It tells us at the end of this verse! We are set apart so “that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.” You are on a mission. You have been brought out of the darkness, relabeled, and now sent out to help others see the light as well. So this week pray to God for opportunities to help share the light, and to praise God for all he has done for yo
