Change

DAY 4 OF 5

CHANGE What would it look like if, no matter what we faced, we completely trusted God and believed in Him for a miracle? Worship prophetically brings the reality of God’s Kingdom into our reality and we experience the healing and freedom of God. When we love Jesus, He becomes the focus of our praise and the model for our life of worship.  We can also grow to love the world as He loves the world. Praise always leads to a breakthrough, and worship always leads to change . We strive for change in our lives and through our lives. In 2 Chronicles 20, we read about how three armies had teamed up to wage war on King Jehoshaphat and the people of God. God steps in and changes the situation. Here are three lessons we can learn: 1\. Re-focus and seek God. ‘Give us the faith The faith to believe.’ Jehoshaphat’s first response was to pray: “We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.” 2 Chronicles 20:12 This is an amazing prayer! One that re-focuses us and helps us worship the One who is holding it all. 2\. Listen to His voice. ‘You are the voice that steadies the storm and the sea.’ As all the people of Judah were praying, God spoke through Jahaziel and said: “Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s… Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the Lord will give you.” 2 Chronicles 20: 15 – 17 It’s so encouraging that the battle is God’s and not ours! We wait on God, stand firm, and worship Him. God is in very nature Love.  When we are waiting and listening for His voice, we can be sure that He’s working for our good.  God desires to speak His life-changing love into our lives and the world around us. 3\. Worship your way through it. ‘We believe a change is coming Lift up a shout of praise.’ Jehoshaphat falls down in worship upon hearing what the Lord has said. He calls all Judah and the people of Jerusalem to have faith in the Lord, and then orders them to do the wildest thing: “After consulting the people, Jehoshaphat appointed men to sing to the Lord and to praise Him for the splendor of his holiness as they went out at the head of the army, saying: ‘give thanks to the Lord for his love endures forever.’” 2 Chronicles 20: 21 For many of us, our first response to a large army coming to attack us would not be to stop and worship.  It was only as the people worshipped Him, that they saw the breakthrough come, and the army was defeated. Worshipping Him at all times means that regardless of the situation we may find ourselves in, we praise Him with unconditional trust and complete surrender. It’s powerful when we hold onto the promises of God in praise. Sing change over your life and over your city. Believe that His Kingdom is on the move as you worship. Revival is on its way!
