Faith in God's Timing Have you ever had a time in your life where things just didn’t happen the way you thought they would? Or a time where you expected a situation to change, but it didn’t? When Jairus falls at Jesus’ feet in desperation and in faith that Jesus would heal his only daughter, he knew that time was running out. You can only imagine the thoughts that must have been racing through his head as Jesus agrees to come with him to heal his daughter. Then suddenly the situation becomes even more desperate as Jesus turns around in the crowd to search for an unidentified person who apparently has drawn His attention away from the crisis at hand. In the moments that follow, the crowd that had gathered around Jesus witnessed an amazing miracle for the woman who had an issue with bleeding. But as these events unfold, Jairus waits and waits. As each precious moment goes by, Jairus’ daughter gets closer and closer to death. Can you imagine the stress he must have been feeling? Surely Jesus knew how important this was! Then the news came from Jairus’ house. It was too late. His daughter had died. They had taken too long and now she was gone. Jesus immediately addresses Jairus with the words, “Don’t be afraid. Just have faith.” Questions 1. What do you think Jairus would have been thinking throughout this situation? 2. What can we learn from how Jesus handled this situation? 3.
