Each Person is Significant Sometimes, we do better at recognizing the importance of another person but struggle with our own value. This also is something that must change. We are so resistant to self-centeredness and pride that we often overreact and create habits of self-criticism and self-judgment in its place. We are to love others as we love ourselves. If we have little realization of our value in God’s eyes, it will show in how we love others. We can’t help but be faulty in that assignment. I’m always careful with those who are very self-critical, as they will probably love me as they love themselves. The overemphasis on self, even if it’s self-criticism, is still focused on self. I remind you, again, that under the King’s dominion every person is celebrated for who they are without anyone stumbling over who they are not.
