### The Holy Spirit Jesus told His disciples that He had to go away so that He can send the Holy Spirit to them. If Jesus stayed on the earth, He would only have been able to minister to a few people at a time. The Holy Spirit can be everywhere at the same time. The Holy Spirit is not a mythical influence or part of our imagination, but He is a Person Who forms part of the Trinity. We need the Holy Spirit in our everyday life to understand the will of God and to walk in revelation as disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ. In Isaiah 11:1-2 the Holy Spirit is referred to as the seven-fold Spirit. The Spirit of: 1. Wisdom 2. Might 3. Understanding 4. Knowledge 5. Counsel 6. the Fear of the Lord 7. the Lord Some names given to the Holy Spirit in Scripture are: * Spirit of Truth (John 16:13) * Counsellor, Helper, Comforter (John 16:5-7) * Spirit of Grace (Hebrews 10:29) * Spirit of Glory (1 Peter 4:14) * Spirit of Faith (2 Corinthians 4:13) * Spirit of Christ (Romans 8:9) Remember, the Holy Spirit is a Person and a gentleman. He only comes when we invite and acknowledge Him. We can also grieve or quench the Holy Spirit by ignoring Him, disobeying, or continuing in sin. Testimony: Ministering at another church, I was praying for a lady when the Holy Spirit showed me a man walking through a rose garden. He went to a bush of red roses in the centre of his garden, took one of the roses and I heard him saying that it was very special and beautiful to him. I felt the Holy Spirit say that God felt the same way about this lady. Upon hearing this, she started to cry and immediately left the building. I thought I had missed God completely until the next day when I got a phone call from her. She told me that she was a rose farmer, and had driven out to the centre of her farm every morning of the previous week to see if the flowers on a certain bush had started to bloom. Going through a very tough time, she had also asked the Lord to tell her how He felt about her. On the Sunday she heard the answer from a complete stranger. The incident changed her life completely and it happened through the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
