God Colors
Have you been the unfortunate recipient of mistreatment? Maybe it was a time when you were misunderstood. Or perhaps the action of another person caused you harm. That narrative appears often in the Bible. Joseph, Daniel and Esther from the Old Testament all experienced false accusations. In the New Testament, we have Paul and Silas singing while in prison. Or think of the ultimate abuse that Jesus encountered by going to the cross as an innocent man. It is often in those times of great pain that we experience the abundant life in a unique way. Chris, Jeremy and Pez from the Live Alive podcast talk about this very thing.
What a great way to look at living the abundant life in the midst of a broken world - to bring out the God colors. The book of James even says that we should consider it joy when we encounter hardship. A full and meaningful life is possible, even when life is hard. This is when we have a real opportunity to let our God colors show. What colors are people seeing with how you handle life's challenges? Do you run to the promises of God's Word? Are you living in the power of the Spirit? That is how you experience the abundant and meaningful life. A life that Jesus, the Light of the World, provides to all who seek it.
Conclusion
In the middle of Proverbs 22, there is a powerful verse. It is almost as if Solomon called a time out to remind the reader why he gives these life lessons. It says, “I am teaching you today — yes, you — so you will trust in the Lord” (NLT). That is it. God uses life lessons to build our trust. Our prayer is that these five days are a reminder to do that — to increase your trust in Him.

About this Plan

Join us for a five-day plan that helps us focus on God during a time that can feel lazy or routine. Each day teaches something different: keeping your focus, letting go of shame, showing kindness, sharing your faith, and living with purpose—even when life is hard. You'll watch short videos and hear stories from the Bible. You'll also hear from people like Bob Goff and Jamie Ivey. This plan reminds us that following Jesus isn’t about being perfect. It’s about being willing. Throughout this summer, ask yourself: Am I focused? Am I kind? Am I trusting God?
