Pursue Kindness
A simple rhyme that many children learn is “sticks and stones can break my bones, but words will never hurt me.” The purpose is to give the impression that words, as opposed to a physical punch, do not bring harm. But words can hurt. Instead, a little kindness goes a long way. Kindness can bring encouragement to the brokenhearted and help heal many hurts. The Bible encourages us to live a life of kindness - even toward our enemies. Dana Roquemore may not have set out to lead a life of kindness, but it is what now defines her.
As we leave summer behind and look ahead to what the fall holds, it may be time to check our kindness quotient. And when we have given a good look at how we are doing, we may ask ourselves what others would say. As you move forward, remember to be kind to one another and to yourself. Together, we can help build a kinder world.
About this Plan

Join us for a five-day plan that helps us focus on God during a time that can feel lazy or routine. Each day teaches something different: keeping your focus, letting go of shame, showing kindness, sharing your faith, and living with purpose—even when life is hard. You'll watch short videos and hear stories from the Bible. You'll also hear from people like Bob Goff and Jamie Ivey. This plan reminds us that following Jesus isn’t about being perfect. It’s about being willing. Throughout this summer, ask yourself: Am I focused? Am I kind? Am I trusting God?
