Lent Devotional: RestoreSample

Restore: Relentless love Tearfund, together with our partners, is driven by the belief in a relentlessly loving God who cares deeply for his children and for all those who suffer. It’s why we will go as far as it takes to reach people who are thought of as unreachable. We recently began to work with the Mbuti Pygmies of Ituri Rainforest in the Democratic Republic of Congo. They aren’t completely isolated, as they live nearby a neighboring tribe. However, their extreme poverty and vulnerability have left the Pygmies open to exploitation, especially of their women and children. Yet Tearfund is there – to strengthen the prospects of the Pygmy people, to challenge the stigma that holds them back and to bring about a restoration between the communities that lasts. Dear Lord God, thank you for the relentless love you have for us. This Lent please bring restoration for the communities in the Ituri Rainforest. Please help us also to understand the relentless love you have for each one of us so that we can reflect this love to our neighbors. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
