Netflix, Amazon Prime, Prime Video, Spotify, YouTube, WhatsApp, Telegram, Snapchat, Bible Apps, Instagram, Facebook, AliExpress, shopping center - wow. Never before have we had so many options that help us shape our lives or help us connect with people all over the globe. We all love these things that are available to us. I can be in contact with more people than ever before and I enjoy that. I can choose the exact Bible plan I need for the precise moment in my life for free. But despite this, my relationships which I can cultivate through social media, do not have depth. I have to write to at least 20 other people. Because of the great choice of Bible plans and "not being able to decide", I have not really managed to connect with God. So much remains superficial. We come to God full or even oversaturated from our fellowship with others, and often do not manage to get close to Him or the people closest to us because of our being distracted by thoughts or tasks. Recently, this was all too much for me as I wanted to connect with God; consciously spend more than 5 minutes with Him but I could not. Then the Holy Spirit gave me a thought (thank God, God still finds a way to you/to me). "Do something about the oversaturation! Empty yourself - fast so that it is easier for you to connect." Jesus, Himself, fasted for 40 days so He could have intensive contact with the Father. ## ACTION STEP: Now take time to pray and think about in which area of your life you can fast so that Jesus can fill you again. Sometimes it is easier to fast with others. Think about who can fast with you. ##### Danila Rodriguez, ICF Karlsruhe
