One of our biggest battles as a follower of Jesus is aligning our thoughts with the thoughts of heaven. There are so many outside influences—social media, TV, podcasts, movies, websites. Our minds are constantly being bombarded with ideas that claim to be true or seem to be true. But God’s Word is truth. It is what we should give our attention to. God tells us in His Word that when we renew our minds with God’s truth, then we will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing , and perfect will (Romans 12:2). In other words, when we start to think in line with God’s truth, we’ll know His heart. We’ll know what He wants, we’ll know what He is guiding us to do. So, let God’s Word define truth. Let God’s Word determine what you believe to be true. When your feelings don’t align with God’s truth or when what you’re being influenced by starts to lead you down a mental path that’s not of God, ask Him for help. Ask God to help you align your thoughts and feelings with His truth. It would be a shame to get to heaven and realize we’ve lived shy of how He wants us to live. We’ve believed falsehoods, or been influenced by them, so we haven’t experienced the full life He wanted us to have. God, point out when we’re being influenced by lies, and show us what Your truth is so we walk as Your sons and daughters until we’re face-to-face with You.
