Understanding the Power of the Communion Table

DEN 7 z 31

THE HOLY COMMUNION: A PHYSICAL MEAL WITH SPIRITUAL IMPLICATIONS The element used for the Communion does not matter because it’s a symbol of something sacred. In the Old Testament, the Lord instructed that they must not put yeast in the bread (Exo. 12:18). In the New Testament, God told us that the yeast is hypocrisy (Luk. 12:1), symbolising insincerity in our walk with God. God is the only One you can afford to be directly honest with. You are not telling God anything new about your case because He already knew before you found out yourself. God is not finding out about the sin in your life when you repent; He knew that you would sin before you did. The Bible tells us in 1 Corinthians 10:2-4, “ And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; And did all eat the same spiritual meat; And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.” The Holy Communion is a physical food with a spiritual implication. The Communion is a meal that has physical elements with spiritual realities attached to it. In Luke 24:30-32, as Jesus broke bread and gave it to the men to eat, their eyes opened, and Jesus was known to them. This is another evidence that the Communion table is not an ordinary meal. PRAYER: Lord Jesus, open my eyes to the power that lies at the Communion table. Amen!
