But I want you to understand that the head of every man is Christ, the head of a wife is her husband, and the head of Christ is God

1 Corinthians 11:3

Heavenly Father, 

I pray for families. Families are being destroyed every day because of sin in this world and a defiance of your will. You’re very clear in how a family was designed to work. You must come first, the marriage second, and children third. This is often a struggle for women, but the best example children can have is to see a marriage between two people who have truly become one flesh, and to see that marriage centered around Christ. 

I pray for women who have trouble with submission. Wives should be equal to their husbands, but God designed men to be the head of the household, to lead the family, and there are too many women in the world who want to “wear the pants” in the family, disturbing God’s hierarchy. I pray for submission in accordance of your will.

What’s the hierarchy of your household? Have you let your husband lead? Have you learned to submit? Submission doesn’t mean weakness. Don’t confuse the two. But take some time writing down how you can realign your family to God’s hierarchy.
