Weak Is the New Strong

DEN 6 z 10

Have you been in relationships individually or collectively with barriers that were an obstacle to experiencing closeness? Our almighty God in all His power became weak, bleeding on a rugged cross to experience closeness with you. When we experience relational walls, why do we not automatically consider being vulnerable about our weaknesses like Jesus did? One day I found myself in a town hall meeting at a church I’d recently started attending. If this type of meeting sounds secular, the experience was the same. The meeting was full of people with so much anger at the leaders that they ended up asking the leaders to step out of the room. People continually went up to the microphone to vent like it was a heated Facebook thread in real life. Suddenly I heard a gentle voice that whispered, “Go to the mic.” I could think of a plethora of reasons why I did not want to go, but in that moment, I obeyed God’s whisper, rolled up to the mic, got out of my wheelchair, and began to pray, “Jesus, we need your help.” All of the sudden, knees hit the floor and vocalized prayers for help arose from the ground until we felt God’s Spirit. Then, one stood and said, “Let’s invite the leaders back in and pray for them.” Weakness before God demolished strongholds of strife that Jesus, in weakness, died for. Among your spheres of influence, how can you practice vulnerability in your weaknesses to aid in relationships moving forward into reconciliation?
