Sometimes showing respect is easy. The people we care about, love, and who respect us in return—treating them the way they should be treated isn’t all that hard. 

What about the people who are challenging? The people who don’t care about us? The people who don’t like us? Well, showing them respect isn’t as easy. But this verse calls us to show respect to everyone. It’s part of loving the people God loves: all people. 

Spend time in prayer this week, asking God to help you show respect to all of His people in your words, actions, and thoughts. Ask Him to show you where you’re struggling to do this, and pray for His help to change your heart and behavior toward that person or those people in your life.
