Oracles of God: The Story of the New Testament

Day 4: One Message, Many Voices

Reflection:

The Bible is a library of 66 books, written by more than 40 authors over 1,500 years in three languages, yet it speaks one unified message: redemption through Jesus Christ. From Genesis to Revelation, every page points toward the same story: God’s relentless pursuit of His people.

Paul reminds us that “All Scripture is inspired by God.” The word inspired means “God-breathed.” The same breath that gave life to Adam gave life to these words. Though written through human hands, Scripture carries divine authority. It gives reliable accounts, and its pages pour forth living words—useful for teaching, correcting, and equipping us to follow Christ.

John closes his Gospel by saying that the stories written were chosen “so that you may continue to believe.” That’s still their purpose today. The Bible tells us more than what God did in the past—it reveals who He is and who He calls us to be.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for speaking through many voices to tell one story; Your story of redemption. Help me to read Your Word with reverence, faith, and obedience.
