Day 23 — Divine Relationships
God not only provides us with unique gifts and talents to help us identify the purpose for which we were created, but one of the most powerful tools He uses to lead us in the right direction is relationships.
This theme is very close to our hearts, because EquipHer itself was birthed out of a divine relationship.
It all began on a digital platform dedicated to helping faith-based leaders grow and expand their ministry. Carrie Pasch, one of our Co-founders, had been sharing content, and one day, noticed that Wendy Perez, a pastor who had been a form of inspiration to her as a great preacher and communicator, was also on the platform. Carrie decided to send Pastor Wendy a message to connect, and from that simple direct message, a special friendship was born. In a short time, they discovered a shared passion: serving Christian women in the business world.
That shared passion soon opened the door to a shared calling—a divine assignment. The relationship between Carrie and Wendy became the foundation of the EquipHer Movement, which now reaches people all over the world and stands as living proof that certain relationships are part of the story God has written for us.
This is our story, but Scripture itself shows us many examples of how God uses relationships to accomplish His purposes. Consider the story of Ruth and Naomi. After losing everything, Ruth chose to remain faithful to her mother-in-law Naomi (Ruth 1:16). What seemed like an act of affection was, in reality, an act of alignment with the purpose of God. Through that covenant relationship, Ruth entered the lineage of King David—and of Jesus. Their bond, born in the midst of grief, became the instrument God used to change the course of history.
Another example is that of Aquila and Priscilla (Acts 18). This couple not only worked together, but also partnered in the spread of the Gospel. The way they supported the apostle Paul and his mission was strategic for the advancement of the Kingdom and the strengthening of the early Church.
What these stories teach us is that God brings people alongside us who act as catalysts to accelerate our purpose and His will on earth. When we learn to recognize these relationships, new doors open before us, and we begin to discover versions of ourselves we never could have found on our own.
Think about the divine relationships that have played a significant role in your life and in your purpose. Make a list of the relationships you currently consider most meaningful, and pray over each one, asking God to reveal His purpose for those connections.
Prayer: Lord, thank You for the divine relationships You have established in my life. Thank you for every person You have used to strengthen me, guide me, encourage me, and align me with my calling. Give me discernment to recognize the connections that come from You, and wisdom to nurture them as instruments of Your plan for my life. Amen.
