Rest Day Thought:
You don’t read Scripture to get good at reading Scripture. You read it to get to know God. It’s easy to forget that. It’s easy to treat time with God like a checklist. But if reading the Bible doesn’t lead you to God Himself, you’ll eventually get bored or burned out. One time I [Dave] felt like God said to me, “If you can find Me without the stuff, then drop the stuff.” The goal isn’t the stuff. It’s Him. So today—rest. Catch up if you need to. But more than anything, just be with God. You don’t need to perform for Him. You’re already found. Try this: Find a quiet spot. No phone. No noise. Just you and God. Close your eyes and pray: “Jesus, help me remember the point. I don’t just want to read about You—I want to be with You.”
Key Verse to Remember:
"I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, would give you the Spirit, of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him." Ephesians 1:17 (NIV)

The book of Ephesians is a letter written by Paul while imprisoned in Rome. He wrote to encourage believers in Ephesus, a wealthy city known for trade and idol worship. These Christians had once been far from God but were now learning what it meant to be found in Him. Paul reminded them of their new identity in Christ and called them to live differently—treating others well, speaking kindly, obeying, and standing strong in faith through life’s challenges. Join us in this 14-day devotional as we unpack Ephesians and what it means to follow Jesus!
