Devotional:

When you decide to follow Jesus, you get a new identity. But that new identity comes with a new way of living. And sometimes, we forget to take off the old stuff that doesn’t fit anymore. Paul says to take off bitterness, lies, gossip, and selfishness—because those are things that fit who you used to be, not who you are now. It’s like trying to wear clothes you outgrew years ago. No matter how nice the rest of the outfit is, it still doesn’t work. That’s what happens when we act one way with God but a totally different way with people. You can’t be spiritually mature and stay socially immature. So, here’s the question: What are you still wearing that doesn’t fit?

Reflection Question:

How are you treating the people around you? Is there anything you’re doing that might look “normal” in the world—but doesn’t fit someone who’s been made new in Jesus?

The book of Ephesians is a letter written by Paul while imprisoned in Rome. He wrote to encourage believers in Ephesus, a wealthy city known for trade and idol worship. These Christians had once been far from God but were now learning what it meant to be found in Him. Paul reminded them of their new identity in Christ and called them to live differently—treating others well, speaking kindly, obeying, and standing strong in faith through life’s challenges. Join us in this 14-day devotional as we unpack Ephesians and what it means to follow Jesus!
