Practising Obedience

DAY 4 OF 5

The Cost of Saying Yes

Obedience can sometimes cost you comfort, relationships, or reputation. But it never costs God’s presence.

When I was deciding who to marry, I thought I had found the right person, but God said that she's not my wife. I struggled because it didn't make sense. Later, God revealed my true wife, someone I didn't “feel” in love with at first. Yet, by obeying, I found peace, purpose, and partnership that have lasted for years.

Obedience may not feel romantic, logical, or easy, but it carries grace. In the end, what God chooses for you will always outlast what you choose for yourself.

Maybe God is calling you to surrender something. It could be a dream, a relationship, or a plan. Remember, His “no” is not rejection; it's redirection toward what truly fits your destiny.

Reflection Questions

  • Is there a decision where you need to choose obedience over feelings?
  • How can you trust God with what you cannot yet understand?

About this Plan

Practising Obedience

Obedience to God is not always convenient, but it is always worth it. Many times, God calls us to take steps that stretch our faith, challenge our comfort, or even cost us something dear. Yet, every act of obedience opens the door to His reward, His presence, and His purpose for our lives. In this 5-day plan, you’ll learn what it truly means to choose obedience over convenience. You will see how God leads through instructions rather than explanations, and why obedience often requires trust more than understanding. Prepare to be encouraged and challenged.
