Practising Obedience

DAY 2 OF 5

When God Gives No Explanation

Sometimes, God’s instructions come without explanations. Before my 21st birthday, the Lord told me to pray into my 21st birthday. I didn’t understand why, but I obeyed. In prayer, God revealed a generational issue that needed to be broken.

If I had waited for an explanation, that revelation would never have come. God often speaks in steps. He gives instructions before explanations. We see this throughout Scripture: Abraham left his home without knowing where he was going (Genesis 12:1-4); Peter cast his net again after a night of failure (Luke 5:1-11). In every case, obedience unlocked divine revelation.

Perhaps God is asking you to move, forgive, give, or serve. You may not understand why, but trust that He sees beyond what you can see.

Obedience positions you for insight. Explanations come later; peace comes first.

Reflection Questions

  • Is there an instruction God has given you that you have delayed because you want more details?
  • What might God be protecting or preparing you for through that instruction?

About this Plan

Practising Obedience

Obedience to God is not always convenient, but it is always worth it. Many times, God calls us to take steps that stretch our faith, challenge our comfort, or even cost us something dear. Yet, every act of obedience opens the door to His reward, His presence, and His purpose for our lives. In this 5-day plan, you’ll learn what it truly means to choose obedience over convenience. You will see how God leads through instructions rather than explanations, and why obedience often requires trust more than understanding. Prepare to be encouraged and challenged.
