Living One: A Study of Integrity in Hebrews

DAY 6 OF 15

Day 6: Perfected – A position to accept

Perfected, Yet Being Made Holy

“For by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.” – Hebrews 10:14 NIV

Very few things in life are free. We work hard to earn marks at school. We have to impress someone to land a job interview. We work for a salary and then use it to pay for food, clothes, accommodation and even when we just want to unwind and watch a movie we are paying for on a streaming platform.

But your identity in Christ isn’t earned—it’s received. It’s free. It’s not that it didn’t cost anything – God paid a dear price when he sent his Son as a ransom for your freedom (Matthew 20:28 NIV). Through faith in Christ, you are already perfected in Him, even as you are still being transformed. From this position It’s not about your performance, but his perfection. You don’t grow to become a child of God—you grow as a child of God.

Adopted Into a New Family

“But to all who did receive Him... He gave the right to become children of God.” – John 1:12

“You received the Spirit of adoption... The Spirit himself testifies... that we are God’s children.” – Romans 8:15–16 NIV

You’re not an orphan trying to earn a place—you’ve been adopted by the King. The Spirit within you whispers not shame, but sonship. When God brought you into His family, he didn’t bring you in temporarily—he brought you in completely. You belong.

Seated in a New Position

“And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms.” – Ephesians 2:6 (NIV)

You’re not clawing your way up spiritually. You’re already seated with Christ. You live from a position of victory, not for it. Your life flows from your position in him—not your past, not your failures, not your feelings.

Prayer Reflection

Lord, thank you that I am who you say I am. I lay down every false label and pick up the name you’ve given me—child of God. Help me to walk in this truth today, not striving for identity, but living from it. In Jesus' name, Amen.
