Praying for the Global Work of Bible Translation

DAY 6 OF 7

For You've promised that Your voice by every tribe and nation will be heard. (Revelation 7:9)

In a closed country in the Middle East, three translators began working on 50 Bible stories—none of them knew Jesus. As Elham, Ali, and Rita* translated these stories, something stirred in them. One by one, they came to faith through the very words they were translating.

They couldn't stay quiet. Sharing the stories they were learning with neighbors, they witnessed twenty people give their hearts to Jesus. A thriving house church has been born from the Word they helped translate—today, they’re meeting weekly and adding members.

God's Word never returns empty.

The work of Scripture translation is monumental and perilous. Nearly a billion people wait as translators navigate not just linguistic complexity—context, culture, figurative language—but also persecution, government bans, and digital firewalls.

But God said that the Gospel would be heard by every nation, and He always keeps His promises.

And, He is making a way. Scripture translation organizations around the world are working in unity to provide access to the Word to everyone, everywhere. New innovations are opening doors for God's Word to reach people in hard-to-access places—safely and creatively meeting those who are waiting.

God will not stop until everyone, everywhere has access to His Word.

Yes, the work is difficult—but with God, all things are possible!

One day, because of God’s faithfulness, we will witness the picture so beautifully painted in the book of Revelation:

“After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands.” Revelation 7:9

God, Your promises never fail. You are greater than every obstacle, every government, and every scheme of the enemy. We pray for all those involved in Scripture translation today. Draw them to You as they work, strengthen them, and keep them safe. In Jesus’ name, amen.
