Day 5: The Word Must Be Lived

Hearing God’s Word is important, but Jesus makes it clear: only those who do what He says are building on solid ground. In Matthew 7:24–27 (MSG), He paints the picture of two builders—one wise, one foolish. The difference wasn’t in hearing but in doing. Storms come to both; only one life stands.

James 1:22–25 (ESV) reinforces this: "Be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.” When we live out what we read, we become people of integrity, strength, and impact.

Too often, we treat Scripture as optional advice. But when we apply it—when we forgive, love, serve, trust, and obey—it becomes powerfully transformational.

Reflection: What part of God’s Word do you need to “work into your life” today?

Activation: Choose one specific teaching of Jesus (e.g., forgiveness, generosity, prayer, humility). Take one intentional step to live it out today. Don’t wait for a perfect moment—create one. Ask someone to hold you accountable or share your step with a friend. Living the Word brings blessing and stability to your life.
