Psalms 85

For the Music Director. A Psalm of the songs of Korah.

1Lord, You have been favorable to Your land; # Ps 77:7

You have brought back the captivity of Jacob. # Ps 14:7

2You have forgiven the iniquity of Your people;

You have covered all their sin. # Ps 32:1 Selah

3You have withdrawn all Your wrath;

You have turned from the fierceness of Your anger. # Dt 13:17; Ps 106:23

4Restore us, O God of our salvation, # Ps 80:3, 7

and cause Your indignation toward us to cease.

5Will You be angry with us forever? # Ps 74:1; 79:5

Will You prolong Your anger to all generations?

6Will You not revive us again, # Ps 80:18; Hab 3:2

that Your people may rejoice in You?

7Show us Your mercy, O Lord,

and grant us Your salvation.

8I will hear what God the Lord will say,

for He will speak peace to His people and to His saints; # Ps 29:11; Zec 9:10

but let them not turn back to folly.

9Surely His salvation is near to those who fear Him, # Isa 46:13

that glory may dwell in our land. # Zec 2:5

10Mercy and truth have met together;

righteousness and peace # Ps 72:3; 89:14 have kissed.

11Truth springs from the earth,

and righteousness looks down from heaven. # Isa 45:8

12Yes, the Lord will give what is good, # Ps 84:11

and our land will yield its increase. # Ps 67:6

13Righteousness will go before Him # Ps 89:14; Isa 58:8

and prepare a way for His footsteps.
