Psalms 23

A Psalm of David.

1The Lord is my shepherd; # Isa 40:11; Jn 10:11; 1Pe 2:25 I shall not want.

2He makes me to lie down in green pastures;

He leads me beside the still waters. # Ps 46:4; Rev 7:17

3He restores my soul; # Ps 19:7

He leads me in the paths of righteousness # Ps 5:8

for His name’s sake.

4Yea, though I walk

through the valley of the shadow of death, # Job 10:21–22

I will fear no evil; # Ps 3:6

for You are with me;

Your rod and Your staff,

they comfort me.

5You prepare a table before me

in the presence of my enemies;

You anoint my head with oil; # Ps 92:10

my cup overflows. # Ps 16:5

6Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me

all the days of my life;

and I will dwell in the house of the Lord

forever. # Ps 21:4
