Psalms 20

For the Music Director. A Psalm of David.

1May the Lord answer you in the day of trouble;

may the name of the God of Jacob defend you; # Ps 46:7, 11

2may He send you help from the sanctuary, # Ps 73:17

and strengthen you from Zion;

3may He remember all your offerings, # Ac 10:4

and accept your burnt sacrifice. Selah

4May He grant you your heart’s desire, # Ps 21:2; 145:19

and fulfill all your plans.

5We will rejoice in your salvation, # Ps 9:14

and in the name of our God we will set up our banners! # Ps 60:4

May the Lord fulfill all your petitions.

6Now I know that the Lord saves His anointed;

He will answer him from His holy heaven

with the saving strength of His right hand. # Ps 28:8

7Some trust in chariots and some in horses, # Isa 31:1

but we trust in the name of the Lord our God. # 2Ch 32:8

8They have collapsed and fallen,

but we have risen and stand upright.

9Save, O Lord!

May the King answer us when we call.
