14
Ps 53:1–6
For the Music Director. A Psalm of David.
1The fool has said in his heart,
“There is no God.” # Ps 10:4; 53:1
They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds,
there is no one who does good. # Ro 3:10–12
2The Lord looks down from heaven # Ge 6:12
on the sons of men,
to see if there are any who are wise,
who seek after God. # 2Ch 19:3
3They have all gone astray;
they have together become corrupt; # Job 15:16
there is no one who does good,
no, not one. # Job 14:4
4Have they no knowledge, all the workers of iniquity,
who eat my people as they eat bread,
and do not call upon the Lord? # Ps 79:6; Isa 64:7
5There they are in great fear,
for God is with the company of the righteous. # Ps 24:6; 73:15
6You shame the plans of the poor,
but the Lord is his refuge. # Ps 9:9
7Oh, that the salvation of Israel would come from Zion!
When the Lord turns back the captivity of His people,
Jacob will rejoice; Israel will be glad. # Ps 53:6
