A Song of Ascents.

1When the Lord brought back the captives of Zion, # Ps 85:1; Hos 6:11

we were like those who dream.

2Then was our mouth was filled with laughter,

and our tongue with singing; # Job 8:21

then said they among the nations,

“The Lord has done great things for them.” # Ps 71:19

3The Lord has done great things for us,

and we are glad.

4Bring back our captives, O Lord,

like the streams in the Negev.

5Those who sow in tears

shall reap with joy.

6He who goes forth weeping,

bearing seed for sowing,

shall come home with rejoicing,

bringing his sheaves with him.
