Connecting With the Heart of Your Childናሙና

There is one group of moms that is particularly well-educated about the importance of attachment—those who have adopted children. Every parent who enters a process of adoption has been taught the importance of developing a secure attachment with their adopted children. It might be worth asking why similar wisdom is not regularly given to all new parents.
My heart behind this devotional is not to criticize baby books or “professional” opinions but rather to talk with you - heart to heart- about this important issue. I want to encourage you to care less about all the standards and developmental milestones that you are bombarded with in the current culture and instead pour your heart into growing your "mom attachment" with your kids.
Each day is a new day and a new opportunity to build a heart connection with your kids. God chose you to be the perfect mom for your children. The Lord your God is with you. He takes delight in you. Never forget just how special and important you are!
Reflection Question: Consider making the Scripture reading for today your “theme verse” for the week. How would that affect your everyday parenting?
