Day 4: Becoming Who We Already Are:

Today, we’re diving into three massive themes: Identity, the Church, and the Kingdom. At first glance, these might feel like separate ideas—but in Christ, they’re deeply connected. In fact, they form a single invitation: Become who you already are.

Let’s start with identity.

In Luke 22:70 (NIV), as Jesus stood on trial before religious leaders, they asked, “Are you then the Son of God?” He replied, “You say that I am.” It wasn’t bravado. It wasn’t insecurity. It was quiet, unwavering confidence. Jesus knew exactly who He was—and His identity flowed from relationship, not performance. As image-bearers, we are invited into that same confidence: not a striving identity, but a received one.

So, what does that have to do with the Church?

Everything.

The Church is not a building or a brand. It’s a people—sons and daughters, living from their God-given identity. When the Church forgets who she is, she becomes a manager of traditions instead of a midwife for transformation. But Isaiah reminds us: “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?” (Isaiah 43:19, NIV)

The Church isn’t called to preserve nostalgia. We’re called to reveal the Kingdom—here and now.

That’s why Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 2:9–10 (NIV), “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him”—but God has revealed it to us by His Spirit.

We are not blind to the Kingdom. It’s not out there, waiting to arrive. It’s within us.

As Jesus said in Luke 17:20–21 (NIV): “The coming of the kingdom of God is not something that can be observed… because the kingdom of God is in your midst.”

The Kingdom isn’t a future location—it’s a present reality. As my friend Dubb Alexander says, “The Kingdom is a family, and Father’s heart is to expand that family.” It’s every moment someone remembers who they are in Christ. It’s every act of love that looks like Jesus. It’s every corner of the world where heaven begins to touch earth through a Church alive in union.

So today, know this: You’re not waiting to become someone new. You’re awakening to who you’ve always been. And as we awaken to our true identity, the Church becomes a living, breathing extension of Jesus. The Kingdom expands—not through force, but through love. Not through control, but through transformation.

You’re already included. You already belong. Let’s live like it!
