Die volgende dag het Moses weer na sy mense toe gegaan. Hy het gesien dat twee Hebreeuse mans baklei. Hy vra toe vir die man wat begin baklei het: “Hoekom slaan jy die man? Hy is ook 'n Hebreër.” Die man sê toe: “Wie het gesê jy mag oor ons regeer? Wie het gesê jy kan vir ons sê wat ons moet doen? Wil jy my ook doodmaak soos jy die Egiptenaar doodgemaak het?” Moses het bang geword. Hy het besef dat hulle weet wat hy gedoen het.
