Encouragement for New Believers

30天中的第18天

When you stop growing, you start to lose interest in your co-workers and colleagues. This often affects your influence. When you’re the person people turn to for advice and help, everyone seeks you out. But if you stop growing, people will start looking to someone else. Personal growth helps you stay interested in others and keeps them interested in you.

How can you stay fresh? Start cross-pollinating. Just like bees move from flower to flower, sharing pollen and helping more flowers grow, you can share valuable information from different sources in various ways. By seeking answers in unexpected places and spreading what you learn, you create a richer and more interesting environment.

Paul writes, "Stir up the gift… which is in you" (2 Timothy 1:6 NKJV). Otherwise it will lie dormant and you’ll become bored. Dedicate some time every day to personal growth. Discover where you do your best thinking, and go there often. Wake up earlier, use your lunch break or turn off the TV in the evening. The time and place don’t matter as much as making it a regular habit.

Eugene S. Wilson said, "Only the curious will learn, and only the resolute overcome the obstacles to learning. The Quest Quotient has always interested me more than the Intelligence Quotient." Often innate curiosity will tell you more than intelligence.

The point is, you must be committed to personal growth in order to succeed.
