Daily Bible Reading— May 2025, God's Strengthening Word: Trusting in God’s Promises預覽

Introduction
1 Kings 5:1–18: With the help of King Hiram of Tyre, Solomon prepares to build the Temple. The two kings make a treaty, and their workers together begin initial construction of the Temple.
Today’s Key Verse: 1 Kings 5:7b
[King Hiram of Tyre said:] “Praise the LORD today for giving David such a wise son to succeed him as king of that great nation!”
Reflect
As noted in the reading from May 19, David’s successor would be the one to build the temple (2 Samuel 7:13). This promise is reiterated in today’s reading in verse 5. What message does Solomon send to King Hiram (verses 2–6)? What is Hiram’s response (verses 7–9)? What supplies does Hiram provide and how does Solomon reciprocate (verses 10–11)? How is the relationship between Solomon and Hiram described (verse 12)? What are your thoughts about the relationship between the two kings?
Pray
Lord God, you are our true source of peace and your reign is eternal. Rule in my heart forever as I seek to serve you each day according to your will. In your holy name, I pray. Amen.
Tomorrow’s Reading
1 Kings 6:1–14: Solomon builds the Temple.
