Leviticus Leviticus is a book of purity and holiness. We begin to see God’s desire for His people is to pursue holiness, not just happiness. The word holy is used 91 times in Leviticus. Other words associated with cleansing and uncleanness number even more. We hear God say, “be holy because I am holy” in Leviticus 11. In Leviticus, we learn about holiness through a holy God, a holy priesthood, a holy people, a holy land, and a holy Savior.
