But heaven to human love is irrevocable. The love of God for us is irrevocable. His love for us is not conditioned; it does not matter what we do or do not do. Irrevocable is a legal term. It is something that you cannot pull back. It is something beyond recall—binding, changeless, definite, a fact, final, indestructible, permanent, stable, certain, conclusive, ironclad, unavoidable. That is what the love of God is for us. It is based on His character, not our actions. We often think that when we do something wrong, or make bad decisions, that God no longer loves us, or that His love has changed towards us and He loves us differently now. But the love of God does not work that way. Not only because God is our father, but because it goes against who He is and all of the promises He made us. His love will never change, and He will never take His love back. This is a truth that we must learn to accept and understand. There is nothing we can do to change it. It is something that God gave us to enjoy and take advantage of for the rest of our lives. His irrevocable love.
