## Rain Showers You may think a “rain shower” doesn’t fall under the category of temptation, that they aren't issues that cause you to act out. In and of themselves, rain showers are pretty minor. However, if I have a leak in my roof, even small rain showers cause damage, allowing water where water should not be. In the realm of sexual temptation, rain showers might seem insignificant, but like the home with the leaky roof, they cause damage. They feed us sexual messages, building a baseload of sexual tension in our thinking. If we choose to watch sex scenes in movies, or scantily clad women in magazines (even if they are not nude), or if we intentionally watch advertisements for that famous lingerie company, then the “roof leaks.” We feed our flesh and develop a tolerance for sexual sin. Thus, when we face more significant, powerful storms, sex already permeates our mind, and we are less able to battle them. Be careful of the rain showers. They may not seem like much, but they can saturate the heart and mind with sexual messages, allowing bigger storms to create more havoc. Ask yourself: Do I allow rain showers in my life? Do I intentionally watch movies with sexual content? Do I “read” the magazines with scantily-clad women? Do I need to be more aware of sexual messages pouring into my life and should I filter them more and tolerate them less? #### The eye of the storm Imagine being a fighter pilot on a combat mission. An enemy aircraft appears in the sky, and your radar tracks him. Soon, you have him locked on, and you are ready to fire. On the ground, our male eyes often act like that radar, but instead of seeking enemy aircraft they, detect female bodies. They lock on, stay locked on, admiring body parts, sometimes hoping for a peek of more. Almost all men face the temptation of the “wandering eye.” We expect men to notice women since men are visually stimulated. But this same natural tendency can easily become a problem for us. You probably don’t have to think too hard to know what it means to “lock on” with our eyes. The problem is not the women; it is us controlling our eyes, keeping them where they belong. Ask yourself: Do I find my eyes locking on where and when they shouldn’t? Do I feel like my eyes have a mind of their own? Do I justify my wandering eyes with words like, “Wandering eyes are normal for a guy”?
