Did you find the message yesterday convicting? How many of us can say that we are really laying down our lives out of love for God? I know there are some mornings when I am more interested in my phone than in prayer. I doom-scroll because I don't want to lay my life down, but then I find that I'm wasting it anyway!

While we do need to exercise self-control to live godly lives, self-control alone is never going to be the solution we need for this problem. What we need is to throw ourselves on God's grace, to cry out to him for help and mercy, to ask him to pour his Spirit on us and powerfully transform our selfish hearts. This is not just a prayer for conversion, but a daily prayer for God to nourish, forgive, and deliver us.

Are you hungry for forgiveness, righteousness, a transformed life? Your heavenly Father will not give you a scorpion. Ask, and it will be given without reproach.
