Day Six is different from the rest because it brings the crown of creation.

God first forms the living creatures of the land — beasts, livestock, creeping things. Then He does something He hasn’t done yet. He pauses. He speaks not just to creation but within Himself.

“Then God said, ‘Let us make man in our image, after our likeness…’” (Genesis 1:26 ESV)

The phrase “Let us” gives us a glimpse of the Trinity — Father, Son, and Spirit, in perfect unity, creating together. And what comes next is unlike anything else in creation.

“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.” (Genesis 1:27 ESV)

No creature, no star, no sea carries the imago Dei — the image of God — except humanity. This is not about status or dominance. It’s about intention.

Our Highness created us with a purpose to represent, rule and reproduce.

Represent: He wants us to reflect His image and goodness to the world.

Rule: He wants us to oversee His creation on His behalf, through trust in Him.

Reproduce: He wants us to spread His presence, not just through having children, but also through inviting others into His kingdom.

“Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion…” (Genesis 1:28 ESV)

God entrusts His creation to His image-bearers. Not to exploit it, but to steward it. To cultivate beauty, preserve order, and reflect His justice, mercy, and love.

Then comes a divine pause. A moment of holy satisfaction.

“And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good.” (Genesis 1:31 ESV)

Only now, with humanity in place, does God call creation “very good.”

You are not an accident. You were made by design, in the image of a holy and relational God. You were created for communion, not just function. For stewardship, not just survival. For reflection, not self-glory.

Day Six reminds us: your life has sacred purpose — because it was spoken by God Himself.

REFLECT

• Do you live like someone made in the image of God?
• Are you using your time, body, and gifts as a reflection of His rule and love?
• How might God be calling you to steward what He’s entrusted to you?

PRAYER

Creator God, You formed me in Your image — not for vanity, but for glory. Teach me to live in light of that truth. Help me to reflect Your love, Your justice, and Your holiness in how I live, love, and lead. May I not waste what You’ve entrusted to me. Amen.
