Lessons From Jonah预览

THE TRUTH OF THE MATTER
Unforgiveness blinded Jonah’s heart. Jonah’s complaint wasn’t about pain and consequences but the abundance of mercy from the God who had just spared him, giving him another chance. Through his bitterness, he couldn’t see people clearly. All he wanted was their judgment. His bitterness left him self-focused and suicidal over a bit of shade. Unforgiveness destroys us. Freedom and joy are found in giving and receiving forgiveness.
Here are some highlights from today’s video:
- God’s desire is for people to repent and receive forgiveness.
- Unforgiveness brings self-centeredness, and self-centered focus brings depression.
- Are we ready to receive and give forgiveness?
- It is time to check our own hearts and relationships.

Jonah is one of my favorite Bible stories. It's a small and rich story with only four small chapters; it doesn’t take long, but it is filled with powerful lessons for us today. We are going to spend four days reading through the book of Jonah together, pulling lessons from the life and story of Jonah.
