For the Love of Ruth预览

Blessed on Purpose
“When she got up to glean, Boaz gave orders to his men, ‘Let her gather among the sheaves and don’t reprimand her. Even pull out some stalks for her from the bundles and leave them for her to pick up, and don’t rebuke her.’”
— Ruth 2:15–16 (NIV)
The blessings of the Lord are not random. They are not accidental. They are intentional.
You and I are blessed on purpose.
God doesn’t just happen to bless you. His Word says, “The blessing of the Lord makes rich and adds no sorrow with it” (Proverbs 10:22, ESV). That means when God blesses you, He does it with a plan. He does it with purpose. And He does it from a heart that is for you, not against you.
In Ruth 2:15-16, Ruth finds herself in Boaz’s field. She is a foreigner, a widow, a woman with no worldly power or status. And yet, God had already gone ahead of her. Boaz gave his workers clear instructions to bless her on purpose. He told them to leave extra grain for her—not by accident, not by mistake—but with intention.
And Ruth gathered all day. When she beat out the barley that evening, she walked away with over half a bushel—a harvest far beyond what a gleaner could normally expect. Her cup overflowed in just one day.
That’s what favor looks like. That’s what being blessed on purpose feels like.
God is not a respecter of persons (Acts 10:34). In the same way He moved for Ruth, He will move for you. He has the heart of the king in His hands, and like streams of water, He can turn it in your direction (Proverbs 21:1). Yes, even those who may not like you. Yes, even in unfamiliar territory. When you are in covenant with God, He will command blessings to come your way—and He will do it in a way that cannot be denied.
So let me ask you:
What are you about to gather?
What are you about to accumulate?
What are you about to collect?
It may feel like you’re in a strange land. It may not look like much now. But when God says it’s time, it’s time. Ruth's blessing came in one day. One field. One divine encounter. And she walked away with more than enough.
You’re not scraping by. You’re stockpiling. You’re being blessed on purpose.
Reflection Questions:
- Are you positioned to receive the blessing God has prepared for you?
- Can you identify how God has intentionally provided for you, even in unfamiliar places?
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for blessing me on purpose. Thank You that Your hand is not random but intentional. Help me to trust You, even in strange places, knowing that You have gone ahead of me and made provision. Open doors that no man can shut. Turn hearts in my favor. And let my harvest be so great that I overflow in just one day. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
