"Choose a good reputation over great riches; being held in high esteem is better than silver or gold." — Proverbs 22:1 (NLT)

In a world that often chases wealth and status, this proverb reminds us that our character and reputation are far more valuable than anything money can buy.

I once worked with a colleague who was known not for their achievements, but for their integrity and kindness. People trusted them, sought their wisdom, and felt safe in their presence. Their example reminded me that while money can be lost or spent, a good name lasts and opens doors that wealth never could.

God calls us to live in such a way that others see His character reflected through us, valuing honesty, respect, and humility over worldly gain.

Today, reflect on how you’re building your reputation. Make one intentional choice to honor someone, speak truthfully, or show integrity, even if no one is watching or it costs you something.

Prayer:

Lord, help me to value what You value. Shape my heart to care more about my character than my comfort. May my words and actions reflect Your love and integrity, so others see You in me. Teach me to pursue a good name over worldly success. Amen.

Heart for the House

David was able to set the stage for Solomon to build the temple by providing the victories for Solomon to have peace in the land, provision, and a launch pad for the new season to come. There are lessons in this for us today! For our future generations to see victory, it will take us fighting the battles now, and generously supporting God's plans to come! Join us through 2 Samuel and 1 Chronicles and be inspired by how you can be setting the next generation up for victory.
