You can’t be perfect. That’s just the reality of it. No matter how hard you try, you’ll never get everything right—and that’s okay.

Jesus knows us completely. He sees not just our actions but our true intentions. There’s nothing we can hide from Him. But I don’t say that to make you feel afraid or ashamed. In fact, it should bring you peace—because if Jesus already knows everything about you and still loves you, there’s no need to pretend or hide.

When Jesus was teaching His disciples, He knew that not everyone would believe in Him or follow His words. He even told them that some of His teachings would be hard to accept. Yet, He still shared His message, offering the truth to those willing to hear it.

"But there are some among you who don’t believe.” (For Jesus knew from the beginning those who did not believe and the one who would betray Him.) – John 6:64 CSB

After hearing this, some of Jesus’ disciples turned away. They couldn’t accept what He was saying. But Simon Peter stayed. He asked questions, wanting to understand.

Jesus knew from the very beginning that one of His closest followers would betray Him. He could have chosen twelve men who would never doubt, never struggle, never fail Him. But He didn’t. Instead, He chose imperfect people—people like us—knowing that despite their weaknesses, they would still be a part of His greater purpose.

And that’s the beauty of it: Jesus works in ways we don’t always understand. Even when Simon Peter denied Jesus out of fear, Jesus wasn’t caught off guard. He already knew. Yet, He still called Peter His disciple. He still chose him, just like He still chooses us.

So what does this mean for us? It means that even though we stumble, even though we struggle with doubt or fear, Jesus isn’t giving up on us. It means we should follow Him with honest, sincere hearts, without letting the world define what is or isn’t true.

Jesus has already told us the truth. He has already declared His love for us. We just have to trust in that promise and walk with Him, knowing that His grace is bigger than our failures.

You don’t have to be perfect—you just have to be willing. Jesus knows you, and He still chooses you.
