A Dozen Easter Bible Stories for Kids, Children, & Kiddos预览

Blessed by Believing in the Risen Jesus!
Blessed by Believing in the Risen Jesus!
Main Point: Jesus’s disciples had to overcome doubt to believe Jesus had risen from the dead.
Be on the lookout! Questions
What did Jesus do after He rose from the dead to prove He was not a ghost?
What did the witnesses see or hear or touch that convinced them Jesus was alive from the dead?
Kids Devo:
Jesus said we are blessed if we believe in Him, without seeing Him. Grandma Goodie wants you to be blessed, but it can be hard to believe without seeing something for ourselves.
In a court of law, people prove something is true by giving evidence. One type of evidence is when someone saw something with their own eyes and tells what they saw. That’s eyewitness evidence. If many people all say they saw the same thing, that makes it easier to believe. There is also physical evidence when people swear that they saw, heard, or touched something.
A doubt is when you’re not sure you believe. Even Jesus's friends had doubts about whether He really rose from the dead. But after they saw Jesus and talked to Him and touched His body, they believed. They had heard stories from other people who saw Jesus too, and that helped them believe even more. Now their stories written in the Bible is their testimony to help us believe and be blessed.
What did the witnesses in this story see or hear or touch that helped them believe? If you believe in Jesus rising from the dead, what helped you believe? If you still have doubts, that's okay. What could help you believe without seeing Jesus yourself?
Remember, kiddo, Grandma Goodie loves you, but God loves you more! Christ is risen! He is risen, indeed!
Let's Pray:
Dear God,
Thank you for letting people see, hear, and touch Jesus after He rose from the dead.
Thank you for writing down their testimony and evidence.
Please help us believe in Jesus even if we haven't seen Him ourselves.
Amen.
Play Ideas:
Pretend that you are a judge in a court trying to decide if Jesus was raised from the dead.
Use the Bible verses to recall the testimony that is written in the Bible.
Then call witnesses (playing the characters in this story) to testify to what they SAW, HEARD, and TOUCHED that made them believe Jesus is risen.
Here are some of the witnesses from these stories you could call:
- The women who went to the tomb at daybreak
- Cleopas and his friend who met Jesus on the road to Emmaus
- The disciples who heard the women’s story and went to see the evidence at the tomb
- A soldier who’d been guarding Jesus’s tomb (pretend one would now tell the truth)
- Thomas
Then – as the Judge – give your decision about what you believe to be true about Jesus raising from the dead on the 3rd day as it was predicted.
