“These are the commands the Lord gave Moses at Mount Sinai for the Israelites.” (Leviticus 27:34 NIV)

The book of Leviticus contains God’s commandments for His people at that time, the goal of which was not to curb and hinder their lives, but for the Israelites to live a life of holiness that meets God’s standard.

They were given so His people could live TOGETHER with God. To live TOGETHER means both parties need to have the same standards and values.
