SAVIOR

What we need when we are at our wits' end (in survival mode) is a Savior, so that we can be redeemed. Scripture tells us that there is no other way to God to escape our turmoil, sin, or heartaches, but through Jesus Christ (John 14:6).

We are offered His strong arm of rescue out of the fiery furnaces of life's hardships (and the eternal damnation of fire) simply by admitting our wrongs, going back to "the first works" and turning to Him for salvation. (Matt. 11:28-30, Rev. 2:5)

The first works refer to the foundational love, enthusiasm, and devotion that characterized the Ephesian church in its early days. Jesus calls them to remember, repent, and return to those actions, emphasizing the importance of renewing their spiritual life and love for Him. God tells us that if we do not have "love" within us, we have nothing. (1 Cor. 13:2-3) This reminds us of the pertinence of maintaining a spirit of love within us.

Jesus provides all the refuge and peace that we need if we look to Him to receive it. James tells us in chapter 4 that we generally do not have because we merely do not ask. How easy is that?

Jesus is the reason we breathe, the very Sustenance of our existence, our Food, our Air, our Living Water! Why wouldn't the believing follower of Jesus Christ jump to the immediate conclusion that he or she MUST go to Him FIRST with all the needs and desires of the heart? Yet here we usually are...going into situations and circumstances with our fleshly, controlling attempts at making things happen on our own and failing miserably every.single.time.

Come to Jesus today with "your stuff" in a child-like faith that is unwavering. We are told that these are the characteristics of a great move of God. Come to Him simply. Come to Him without doubting His power and abilities to tend to your needs and desires. He CARES for you! He WILL intervene! (Matt. 18:3, James 1:6, Rev. 22:17, 1 Peter 5:7, Psa. 55:22)

PRAYER:

Thank You Jesus, for being The Only One who can be my Savior! Thank You for Your power and might that can handle all of my issues. Build in me the ability to never waiver or doubt You, God!

In Jesus' Name I pray, Amen.
